Full Metal Alchemist New Series Announced

Yes this is old news, but BONES has finally announced a remake of the Full Metal Alchemist series. It will be another 52 episode run, however the quirk this time is that they will stick faithfully with the manga rather than diverging halfway through.

As a fan, I am sort of dismayed since this creates a disparity between the original series and this new one. I think some people are going to completely ignore one in favour of the other, especially since the same studio is making it. But I suppose milking such a massive cash cow is just too irrestible for BONES.

However on the flip side, it is nice to see being a lot more active recently with new series such as Soul Eater and Xam’d Lost Memories.

For those who are wondering how long they have to wait to look forward to this remake, it may be as early as April 2009. In the mean time, I’m hoping they release that remake of Eureka Seven soon. Perhaps they will dare so much to continue the story since I feel there is still a lot more to it. One can hope can’t they?
