I haven’t gotten quite a category for this, but I might make this into a small series of my own if I have the time.  Basically, I will discuss funny headlines that I have come across from time to time. As the first of this series, you get two funny headlines in one.

The first headline reads “12 people injured in wedding in Chechnya when angry guest throws hand grenade.”

I stumbled across this while watching my local TV news channel at around midnight. So why was I laughing at people getting injured? Well the fact that a guest had a hand grenade on him/her and the fact that he decided to use it when he got angry in a wedding of all places was really what I found funny. I suppose a lot of people carry hand grenades around as anger management tools.

The moral of this headline: if you invite guests to a wedding, make sure they are kept happy for the entire ceremony.

The second headline reads “Man 56 charged after running over the foot of a parking officer.”

Being a driver myself, I found this headline hilarious. I imagine that the man ran over the parking officer’s foot in a parking lot. Of all the places one can drive in, that must be the slowest. Honestly if you can’t avoid running over the feet of people at such a slow speed, I think you need to give up driving. Then again, the parking officer should have noticed a car approaching his foot. How can you not see something that big approach?

Moral of this headline:

For Drivers: No matter how good you think you are, always be wary of a parking lot and nearby parking officers who don’t account for their feet properly.

For Parking Officers: Well this can apply to pedestrians too. If you see a vehicle coming your way, take a few steps back and give it plenty of room. You’ll be surprised by the type of drivers they let on roads these days. Your foot will thank you.
