Wii to be released in November under $250 USD
That’s right, USA Today has semi-officially confirmed that the Nintendo Wii’s launch has been set for November with a launch price of under $250 USD. It has been semi-officially confirmed because USA Today hasn’t listed its source for this information.
Nintendo Wii will also be accompanied with an Xbox Live like service called Nintendo Wii Connect24.

Nintendo Wii Connect24 will not have any subscription services or for any online gameplay with the Nintendo Wii for that matter. Such information definetely goes does conform to Nintendo’s views that “online gaming as essentially an enhanced way to enjoy the gaming experience and drive more sales of hardware and software.” This also conforms to Nintendo’s promise that “Nintendo will offer online-enabled games that the consumers will not have to pay a subscription fee for. They’ll be able to enjoy that right out of the box. … It won’t have hidden fees or costs.”
It seems to me that buying Nintendo Wii will be a pretty good deal. Innovative gameplay, free online gameplay, all for a cheap price at launch. Looks like I might get a Nintendo Wii (one the price is lowered further of course).
