Gamers to be able to create games for Xbox 360?

Xbox 360

Microsoft is planning to pull a “YouTube” for their Xbox 360 console. Now if you don’t know what YouTube is, it is an online video service where users can upload their own usermade videos for others to watch. You can find out more here.

Microsoft is developing a new application that allows hobbyists to create their own playable games for the Xbox 360 console. The $99 USD program called XNA Game Studios Express will be available for Windows XP and Windows Vista. It is actually a watered-down version of the tool available to game developers, which means that it will require basic programming skills and you cannot make anything too complex on it. However, considering what YouTube users have done with their lack of highly sophisticated special effects resources, it will prove to produce some very interesting ideas indeed.
