Transparent NXT SoundVu-equipped screen
“Japan’s Dai Nippon Printing Co. (DNP) is set to make the country even more futuristic this fall when they release their transparent “Crystal Illusion Screen” equipped with NXT’s where’s-that-sound-coming-from SoundVu technology…”

Well, just when I thought Japan couldn’t get any more futuristic, I was proved wrong. If you read the preview from Engadget and the picture above, you probably have already guessed that the projector screen is transparent. I don’t know how those brilliant scientists in Japan do it, but they never cease to amaze me. ^:)^
When I first look at the picture, I thought it was a hologram (don’t laugh at me, I know I can miss the obvious sometimes). I don’t mind having one of those in my home, perhaps placed in front of a few plants like in the picture above. :d
The screen is coated in a special liquid crystal display that only relflects light from the projector, making it very useful in brightly lit areas like the outdoors. That is a drastic change from the projectors we know today that require a dark room with no other light sources.
The screen also comes with an revolutionary sound system from NXT called SoundVu. SoundVu gets rid of the need for external speakers. The sound is mysteriously produced from the screen itself. :-?
Well Engadget is still not sure whether the projector comes with the package or not, but nevertheless this screen is gonna cost A LOT of money, over $4000 USD when it launches in October. That price is definetely going to be out of my price range. :((
